Three cranes fly toward a pond near sunset. The silhouette was on a day with a beautiful sunset for the background. Their back sides are illuminated by blue sky above them. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
Technical: Canon D60 camera, 700mm f/5.6 (500 mm f/4 IS lens +1.4x TC), 1/125 sec at ISO 400. The image is sharp at this slow shutter speed because of a smooth pan plus image stabalization. This is 1120 mm equivalent focal length on 35mm. This is the full-frame, uncropped image.
