Sandhill Crane Takeoff 1

The cranes take a running start to take off from the shallow pond as this one is doing. The stripes on the neck are from sunlight passing between feathers on the wing. This image is a closeup crop. The full image is shown below. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
