This moonrise on August 6, 2009 was between the horizon and a huge thunderstorm cloud. The moonrise was about 20 minutes after sunset, and the turbulent conditions are evident in the misshapen moon
Canon 5D Mark II 21 megapixel digital camera, 500 mm f/4 L Is lens plus 1.4x TC, f/5.6 ISO 200, 0.6 second on tripod with mirror lock-up. Slight crop.
